WHO IS ADA? Vision, Mission, Objective, Goals for 2024-2028
The Africa Design Authority
The Africa Design Authority (ADA) was established to bridge the gap between Design, Administration, and the Business of Design. ADA aims to promote the value of design to society, protect all aspects of design in Africa, advance design education and research, and foster global collaboration among designers. We envision ADA as a beacon of transformative design leadership, driving African design as a powerful catalyst for positive change by 2027.
Vision:
We envision ADA significantly enhancing the growth and sustainability of Creative and Cultural Industries (CCIs) in Africa, particularly in fields like Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Graphic and Software Design, Engineering, Architecture, and Gaming Design. By promoting CCIs, ADA will preserve Africa’s diverse cultural heritage, foster social cohesion, and provide opportunities for marginalized groups. Our goal is to unite design professionals, communities, institutions, and investors in a shared pursuit of empowerment, creativity, innovation, education, and sustainable progress.
Mission:
ADA is dedicated to promoting design and its societal value, implementing institutional protection for African design, advancing design education and research, and fostering collaboration among designers globally. By investing in ADA, we aim to build industries that attract both domestic and international tourists seeking authentic cultural experiences.
Objectives:
ADA focuses on the institutional protection of African design by defining, structuring, and activating frameworks in the following areas:
- Culture and Heritage
- Innovation
- Creativity
- Technology
- Intellectual Property
- By increasing the visibility of African cultural products, developing capacity-building programs, and establishing global partnerships, ADA aims to enhance Africa’s soft power and cultural diplomacy.
Goals:
ADA will have a multifaceted impact on the economy, society, culture, and international relations, creating a vibrant ecosystem that celebrates Africa’s rich creative heritage. We plan to:
Organize workshops, seminars, and online courses to keep design professionals updated on industry trends and technologies.
Collaborate with government bodies to formulate design policies that promote creativity and sustainable development.
Facilitate partnerships between educational institutions and industry players for real-world design projects and internships.
Provide a platform for investors to discover and invest in promising design projects and initiatives.
Join us in paving the way for a brighter, more inclusive future through the power of design
